Upscale French Restaurant Group is seeking an energetic, experienced, and reliable Barista to join our team. In this position, you will prepare and serve specialty coffee beverages and food items to patrons. Our baristas are enthusiastic about coffee and maintain a high standard of execution. The barista ensures the guests feel welcome and attended to. Baristas are also responsible for shift side work.
Location: Café Bilboquet, 26 East 60th Street New York, NY 10022
Primary responsibilities:
- Open and/or close the Café daily
- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and hot beverages that meet quality standards
- Serve guests quickly and efficiently
- Respond to orders, questions, concerns, and complaints in a polite and efficient manner
- Properly handle, clean, and maintain all equipment. Maintain required cleaning and sanitizing of work areas including espresso machine, grinder, pour-over parts, utensils, etc.
Skills and qualifications:
- 1+ year of barista experience
- Personable, outgoing, and enthusiastic
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly, follow direction, and be self-motivated
- Retail, customer service, or hospitality experience preferred
- Strong ability to multitask
- Ability to problem solve quickly
- Hold a current Food Handler’s license or must obtain within a month of hire
