Starting Pay: $11 per hour plus tips
Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista / Market Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages while providing exceptional customer service in a café and market environment. Your ability to connect with customers and create a welcoming atmosphere will be key to our success.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including workstations, equipment, and dining areas.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Operate the POS system efficiently for processing transactions and managing cash flow.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive work environment and support each other in daily tasks.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.
- Experience in food preparation is preferred, along with knowledge of food safety practices.
- Proficiency in using POS systems; familiarity with Aloha POS is a plus.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing cash accurately.
- Previous experience in the café or retail environment is advantageous but not required.
National Base Salary Rate: $12.00 – $14.40/hour

- Assist with the training of new team members
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace so that coworkers can locate resources and products.
- Maintain calm demeanor during periods of high volume or during unusual events to continue operational standards and to set a positive example for the store’s team.
- Follow all cash management policies
- Adhere to all recipe and presentation standards
- Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products
- Continually reviews the store’s environment to identify problems, concerns and opportunities
What are the requirements for this position?
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You have a high school diploma or equivalent
- You have strong customer service in retail and/or hospitality knowledge
- You have strong problem solving and organizational skills
- You learn quickly, build relationships, and communicate effectively
Physical Requirements For This Position
This can be a physically demanding position. You must be comfortable standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, and squatting for extended periods of time.
Travel Requirements
This position will require little to no travel outside the property and surrounding areas.
