Barista

Position Overview: As a Barista at Legacy Records, you will be responsible for crafting exceptional coffee beverages, providing outstanding customer service, and maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting coffee shop environment. This position requires someone who is able to work independently, as you will be opening and closing the coffee shop on your own. You will need to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality, while also engaging with guests to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coffee Preparation & Service: Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and espresso drinks, including but not limited to lattes, cappuccinos, pour-overs, and cold brews.
• Follow SOPs: Adhere to established standard operating procedures for drink preparation, customer service, cleanliness, and safety to ensure consistency and quality at all times.
• Independent Work: Open and close the coffee shop independently, including setting up, breaking down, and maintaining all equipment and supplies.
• Customer Interaction: Greet customers warmly, engage in friendly conversations, and provide recommendations when needed. Ensure a positive, memorable experience for every guest.
• POS Operation: Use POS systems (Lightspeed, Toast, and others) for order processing, payments, and transaction management accurately and efficiently.
• Maintenance & Cleanliness: Keep the coffee bar, equipment, and surrounding area clean, stocked, and organized. Perform routine cleaning and sanitization procedures.
• Consistency & Quality Control: Ensure all beverages are prepared to the highest standards of taste and presentation with a focus on consistency.

Qualifications:

• Coffee Knowledge: Strong knowledge of coffee, espresso, and various extraction methods. Ability to craft drinks with precision and an eye for detail.
• Experience: Prior experience as a Barista or in a similar role is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using POS systems, specifically Lightspeed, Toast, or similar platforms. Ability to quickly learn new systems and tools.
• Customer Service: Friendly, approachable, and skilled at creating meaningful connections with customers. You should be passionate about giving excellent service.
• Independence: Comfortable and efficient working alone, with the ability to manage opening and closing duties.
• Team Player: While you will often be working independently, you will also need to collaborate with restaurant staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Attention to Detail: A high level of consistency in drink preparation and customer service is essential.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Flexible schedule, including availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
