Demonstrates basic food handling skills and follows health and safety standards and guidelines.
Greets all customers in a courteous manner, with fast, friendly, personalized service. Develops rapport with customers by learning names, favorite drinks, and food items.
Prepares and take customer orders following standard recipes and customer specifications.
Maintains bar/cart area in a neat and sanitary manner. Cleans coffee machines, restaurant area and preparation areas on a regular basis. Take out trash daily and as needed.
Operates a cash/debit & credit card/electronic payment register. At the end of every shift balance cash register and ensure coffees shop is ready for the next day.
Maintains confidentiality of information pertaining to patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues and MercyOne Siouxland business.
Performs other duties as assigned.

As a Barista at MercyOne, you will provide exceptional customer service while making hand-crafted, quality beverages. The Barista will take orders and make coffee, tea and other drinks to customer specifications. The individual will also operate cash registers and credit card machines. The Barista fields customer complaints or questions while working to maintain good customer relations and speedy delivery of all beverages.

Schedule

- Day hours- shifts include the following times: 6 am – 10 am, 6 am – 3 pm, or 9 am – 3 pm.
General Requirements
- Knowledge of food preparations and sanitation required.
- Excellent customer service and enthusiastic work ethic.
- Must have a general working knowledge of computers and department specific software.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, be well organized and maintain a highly professional manner and appearance.
Education
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience preferred.
