Job Summary/Overall Objectives

Barista will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining cleanliness and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Shifts: 5am-1pm M-F and 6am-2pm M-F

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks and beverages according to established recipes and stands.
  • Operate the POS systems for order processing and cash handling.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including workstations, equipment, and dining areas to meet food safety standards.
  • Assist with food preparation and serving as needed, ensuring adherence to food handling guidelines.
  • Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, including basic math calculations for change and sales reporting.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and enhance overall customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities]

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of barista experience or background in food service industry.
  • Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
  • Familiarity with POS or Micros POS systems preferred.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in food nutritional services preferred.
  • Experience in Healthcare setting.

License, Certification & Clearances

  • ServSafe required
  • Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
  • Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
