Wage range: $17 – $19 per hour
Your Impact
Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers, preparing, and serving a variety of coffee drinks as well as food items. Provides high quality customer service, including efficient sales practice and proper food sanitation.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Retail Manager
Supervises: N/A
Essential Accountabilities
- Operates cash register with an accuracy of 99.85% (plus or minus).
- Sets up appropriate cashier bank.
- Documents cash received and charges made.
- Identifies customer needs and refers to appropriate department for follow-up when necessary.
- Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu, answering questions.
- Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, caffe latte, and cappuccino.
- Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies etc. for coffee bar.
- Stocking refrigerators with beverages, condiments etc.
- Cleaning, sanitizing, polishing general work areas, this includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and throwing trash.
- Prepare and gather items needed for meal service.
- Provides exceptional service to all guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Of
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- General office standards of dress and behavior
- Basic math, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals
Skills In
- Ability to write notes and brief instructions using correct spelling and grammar
- Deliver friendly and efficient customer service
- Speak clearly and present information orally
- Ability to speak, read, understand and write English
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
- Ability to learn to operate equipment and perform a variety of repetitive tasks
- Ability to do heavy lifting
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to follow time schedules for meal preparations and serving
Experience And Education
MINIMUM REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or GED. Six (6) months previous experience working with the public in a customer service role.
Preferred
- Extensive cashier and barista experience, experience with catering, fast food service, any prep work, or any food handling experience. Experience working in kitchens of facilities or institutions that provide meals to large groups of people daily.
