Barista

UnityPoint Health – Allen

Shift: Full-time; 6 AM – 2:30 PM and rotating weekends

Benefits Eligible

The barista prepares specialty drinks, assists with food preparation, receives orders and payments. They are tasked with providing an unforgettable experience for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers, while anticipating their needs
  • Prepare and serve coffees, teas, and specialty beverages per brand standards
  • Maintain coffee knowledge on current offerings and accurately communicate product information to customers. Respond to questions, orders, and concerns, and educate customers on coffee products.
  • Prepare and serve food items in line with location standards
  • Set up and breakdown coffee bar, stations or store including cleaning and sanitizing
  • Maintain clean and sanitary work area
  • Stock beverage coolers, grab and go items, service ware and condiments
  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge of all Bistro equipment and assist with troubleshooting in event of equipment malfunctions.
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitization guidelines for all procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by management
  • Follow payment policies
  • Responsible for opening and closing register operations

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year experience in food service industry or related experience.
  • Strong numerical skills and demonstrated accuracy and consistency in cash handling.
  • Superb customer relation skills.
  • Must speak fluent English.

Preferred:

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent
  • Knowledge as a Barista or equivalent experience
  • ServSafe certification
  • Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
