Cafe hours are: MON-FRIDAY 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM; SAT & SUN 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Summary

This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers on shift, engaged in selling doughnuts, espresso drinks and/or general lines of merchandise, by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

 

  • Manage and prioritize duties during each assigned shift, including giving direction to employees, organizing breaks and assigning duties as needed. Using a “Guest First” decision making process.
  • Guarantees the best possible customer service at all times.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service in order to lead others by example.
  • Maintain an enthusiastic and positive approach in work.
  • Create a rapport with customers.
  • Follow cash handling procedures and train crew members accordingly.
  • Prepares daily deposits.
  • Occasionally assist with planning and preparing work schedules, reports, and orders.
  • Anticipates customer and café needs by constantly evaluating the environment, customers and staff for cues.
  • Provide a high level of product knowledge, including ingredient and allergen information; answers customers’ questions.
  • Communicates information to the Café Manager that will assist in further training and development of all employees.
  • Work with Café Manger to document employee interactions, including but not limited to: interactions, verbal warnings, and written warnings.
  • Monitor product quality and communicates issues to the Café Manager.
  • Monitor the daily doughnut supply and coordinates efforts to replenish when quantities are low.
  • Address all equipment issues immediately and communicate with the Café Manager to coordinate necessary repair, this includes point of sale and computer terminals.
  • During shift ensure proper health, safety and sanitation guidelines are followed and address any concerns immediately.
  • Adhere and reinforce Top Pot policies, procedures, and training guidelines: including, but not limited to dress code, cash handling, employee dining, duties and behavior.
  • Answers customer’s complaints or inquiries, where needed, in the absence of the Café Manager.
  • Responsible for securely opening and closing the building.
  • All applicable essential duties covered in the Barista job description.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

 

  • Demonstrates a customer focused, customer first, attitude.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn P.O.S. system for cashiering duties.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A food handler’s permit is required.
  • Supervising employees during assigned shifts this includes:
  • Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
  • Training employees, assigning work, rewarding and disciplining employees.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to problem solve when dealing with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Clear communication skills
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume.

Salary Description

$18.50 plus tips
