THE ROLE
The Assistant General Manager works alongside a passionate Front of House team and plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional guest experience. In the absence of the General Manager, the AGM assumes all GM responsibilities and helps lead the café through strong operational execution, thoughtful leadership, and a commitment to hospitality excellence.
The AGM works side by side with team members, inspiring them to exceed guest expectations through authentic, genuine, warm, and welcoming service while upholding Tatte’s product and service standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Supports the General Manager in ownership of the business and ensuring day to day operations run smoothly
- Models an authentic, warm guest experience and instills great service throughout the team
- Supports recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training team members who embody Tatte’s values
- Demonstrates people leadership skills with the ability to identify talent and develop managers and hourly team members
- Leads and navigates difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy
- Continuously upholds Tatte brand and visual standards
- Leads team members through effective and efficient operational execution
- Ensures food safety standards are consistently maintained
- Supports café level change management initiatives and communication of new products, services, and operational updates
- Contributes to food, labor, and controllable costs remaining within company guardrails
- Assists with café administrative responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergencies as needed
- Ability to work ten hour plus shifts and stand, sit, squat, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods of time
- Ability to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 1 year of management experience in a high volume, full service, hospitality, or polished fast casual environment
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- High integrity and professionalism
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or Associate’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with UKG/UltiPro, Toast POS, and CrunchTime/TeamworX
- ServSafe, Allergen, and ChokeSaver certifications
- Competitive Pay: $69,000–$84,000 annually, depending on experience
