Position Overview

The Assistant Starbucks Manager supports the Starbucks Manager in leading all aspects of the in-store Starbucks café. This role ensures exceptional customer service, high-quality beverage and food execution, and full compliance with Starbucks and company standards. The Assistant Manager helps drive sales, develop team members, and maintain an inviting café environment.

Key Responsibilities Café Operations

  • Support daily Starbucks operations including beverage production, food service, and customer flow
  • Ensure all drinks and food items are prepared to Starbucks standards for quality and consistency
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering, and manage product availability
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked workstations and café areas

Customer Experience

  • Deliver outstanding customer service aligned with Starbucks brand standards
  • Create a welcoming, friendly café environment for all customers
  • Address and resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally
  • Promote featured beverages, food items, and seasonal offerings

Team Leadership & Development

  • Assist in supervising, training, and coaching baristas
  • Support onboarding of new team members and ongoing skill development
  • Delegate tasks and ensure efficient execution of daily responsibilities
  • Foster a positive, high-energy, and team-oriented culture

Food Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to all Starbucks food safety, beverage preparation, and sanitation standards
  • Maintain proper temperature logs, cleanliness, and product handling
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and operational guidelines
  • Support audit readiness and compliance with health regulations

Sales & Performance

  • Support execution of sales goals, promotions, and initiatives
  • Monitor café performance and assist in driving sales growth
  • Manage waste and control costs through effective inventory practices
  • Step in to lead operations in absence of the Starbucks Manager

Qualifications

  • Previous Starbucks, café, or food service experience preferred
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership experience or demonstrated leadership potential
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
