Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site Play Café Host (Barista) role located in Southington, CT. In this role, you will prepare a variety of coffee and beverage orders, serve light snacks, and deliver exceptional customer service to families visiting the café.

Play Café Hosts are also responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the space. This includes routine cleaning and sanitization of café surfaces, play areas, and high-touch points, as well as ensuring all areas remain organized and stocked.

Additional responsibilities include greeting guests, assisting with check-in and waivers, monitoring the play space for safety, and creating a warm, positive experience for both children and caregivers.

Qualifications

• Strong barista and food preparation skills, with the ability to craft high-quality coffee beverages and handle food items safely

• Experience in a Play Café Host or similar role, with a focus on creating a welcoming, family-friendly environment for both children and caregivers

• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to engage with guests and build positive connections

• Effective communication skills to interact with customers, support check-in/waivers, and collaborate with team members

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety standards across both café and play areas

• Positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn and grow within the role

• Previous café, food service, childcare, or other customer-facing experience is a plus

• Ability to lift and carry supplies as needed and stand for extended periods
