About the Job: We are seeking an energetic and guest-focused Barista/Café Attendant to deliver exceptional service while preparing high-quality beverages and food offerings in a welcoming café environment. This role is responsible for creating memorable experiences for members and guests through outstanding hospitality, efficient service, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, and passionate about providing excellent customer service while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and professionalism. What You Do:
- Welcome members and guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, creating a positive and inviting atmosphere.
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, teas, smoothies, and other specialty drinks according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Serve food items and grab-and-go offerings while ensuring proper presentation and portioning.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide personalized service to enhance the overall customer experience.
- Accurately process cash, credit card, and member charge transactions using the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain cash drawers and follow all cash-handling procedures and company policies.
- Stock and replenish beverage coolers, food displays, service ware, and café supplies throughout each shift.
- Set up, maintain, and clean coffee stations, food displays, and service areas.
- Ensure all café areas remain clean, organized, sanitized, and fully stocked.
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned
- Support team members during busy periods and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous barista, café, coffee shop, food and beverage, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of coffee, espresso preparation, and specialty beverages preferred.
- Strong guest service skills with a passion for creating exceptional experiences.
- Experience handling cash transactions and operating point-of-sale systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Positive attitude, professional appearance, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Food Handler's Certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely operate beverage equipment and work around hot surfaces.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and service standards.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business needs require.
