Role Description The Barista role is a full-time, on-site position based at Compassion Coffeehouse in Mount Juliet, TN. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of coffee and espresso-based beverages, teas, and light food items with consistency and care. Day-to-day tasks include operating coffee equipment, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, handling transactions, and ensuring products meet quality and safety standards. The Barista will greet guests, take orders, answer questions about menu offerings and the coffeehouse’s mission, and provide friendly, efficient customer service. This role also supports opening and closing duties, restocking supplies, and collaborating with team members to create an inviting, community-centered environment.
Qualifications

• Strong Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills to create a welcoming, respectful experience for all guests.
• Barista experience or demonstrated interest in coffee preparation, including basic espresso and drink-making skills.
• Clear Communication skills to take orders accurately, explain menu items, and share information about the coffeehouse’s mission.
• Food Preparation skills with attention to cleanliness, safety, and consistency in following recipes and handling ingredients.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and work in a fast-paced café environment.
• Reliability in attendance, punctuality, and adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Positive attitude, teamwork mindset, and alignment with Compassion Coffeehouse’s community-focused mission.
• Prior café or hospitality experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
