Job Title: Front of House

Reporting To: General Manager

Average Weekly Hours: 4-32 hours per week

Schedule: Flexible

Available Hours: Flexible, ideally 6am-2pm in Coralville; 10am-2pm in Marion

Purpose of Position

The Front of House staff are the first person customers interact with at The Eat Shop. Primary responsibility is to ensure quality customer service by creating an enjoyable experience for all visitors.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide stellar customer service, including warmly greeting visitors and responding to questions
  • Prepare all coffee and espresso beverages to The Eat Shop standards
  • Perform daily operations, including but not limited to: maintaining tidy store appearance, cleaning, taking orders in person and over the phone, cashier sales, maintaining display cases
  • Familiarity with The Eat Shop products to effectively assist customers
  • Ensure all food is handled and served in a manner consistent with health code requirements
  • Construct boxes and apply stickers to packaging to ensure consistent quality, appearance and sufficient inventory for future shifts

Work Experience And Requirements

  • High school education
  • Ability to operate Clover cash register system and make appropriate change
  • Excellent work ethic and teamwork concepts: Positive, energetic, personable, professional
  • Awareness of Front of House inventory and communicates needs to manager in a timely manner
  • Follow dress code and be neat in appearance

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending and reaching overhead is required on a daily basis
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 40 pounds

Language Skills

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate in English; legible handwriting
  • Must be able to communicate to coworkers and customers in a clear, concise and professional manner
