- Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions
- Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, caffe latte, and cappuccino
- Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; and reporting needed repairs to manager
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and sanitation regulations
- Collect and process payments from the customer including cash, credit and debit cards and room charges
- Display merchandise in an attractive and functional manner
- Maintain clean and hygienic work area
- Enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

- Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Most tasks are performed independently or in a team environment with the employee acting as a team leader. There is minimal direct supervision
- High volume experience with coffee making equipment
- Working knowledge of all forms of coffee and standard beverage recipes
- Basic numeracy and money-handling skills
- Able to stand for long hours
- Able to lift and carry moderate amounts of weight
- Has a sincere desire to exceed guest expectations
- Flexibility in their scheduling
