Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Barista located on-site in Rocky Mount, NC. The Barista will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages and light food items, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and inviting workspace. Additionally, the role involves engaging with customers in a professional and friendly manner, handling transactions efficiently, and adhering to operational and sanitation standards to ensure a quality customer experience.
The barista is responsible for creating a friendly environment and connecting with our customers. The barista creates great cups of brew custom made for each customer. This position requires someone who can build a relationship with our customers and who is always ready to serve. Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard.
- Responsible for overall appearance and cleanliness of location.
- Works well with the public and has an outgoing personality.
- Maximizes store sales by recommending extras on the menu.
- Complies with company policies and procedures.
- Maintains a positive attitude and desire for the store and company to succeed in all facets of business.
- Assists with training of new hire associates.
- Maintains a “Customer First” attitude, providing great customer service at and follows direction from company and store management.
- Ensures compliance with requirements by enforcing adherence to policies and procedures, and governmental regulations; reports needed actions/resources and/or compliance/requirement opportunities to the Store Manager.
- Implements non-discriminatory related skills while training and working with employees.
- Executes programs to maintain inventory control installed by Store Manager/District Manager.
- Completes shift duties and lets the Store Manager know if there are any issues that need to be addressed.
- Conduct a walk around upon arrival and directly before leaving to make sure that everything is clean and stocked.
- Keeps all monies/currency secure.
- Operates a cash register/POS unit to company expectations.
- Positively interact with customers, fellow sales associates, management, vendors, etc.
- Required to plus sell, suggestive sell and/or up sell customers every transaction.
- Assists implementation of marketing plans and initiatives by working with other team members.
- Enforces all policies, regulations, and procedures for all age verification products.
- Secures and protects all company assets (inventory, property, cash, etc.) by adhering to responsibilities, job description, safety regulations, etc.
- Able to stand/stay on feet for long periods of time.
- Clean and maintain cleanliness standards set by the company both inside and outside of the store.
- Back up for the sales associates if there is a line and you are not serving a customer at the time. Check out all customers except for lottery customers.
- Job duties may change with or without notification.
Critical Criteria
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- In addition to a regular work week, must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as assigned.
- Requires experience working with the public.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. whether stocking or receiving product.
- Able to stand/stay on feet for long periods of time.
- Must demonstrate great work ethic, effective communication skills, be self-directed, self-motivated and customer service oriented with a passion to increase sales and profitability. A positive attitude and ability to manage time and multi-task are a must.
- Ability to follow supervision, complete training/tasks, work well with other sales associates and complete/follow criteria listed in job description.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Background check and/or drug screen may be administered at the company’s discretion before and/or after a position is offered.
