Barista

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Barista to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers while preparing and serving specialty beverages with an emphasis on matcha. As a Barista, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the café's appearance, managing inventory, and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting beverages in a calm, welcoming manner.
• Prepare and serve matcha-based drinks, coffee, and other specialty beverages according to company standards.
• Follow recipes precisely and measure ingredients accurately to ensure consistency and quality.
• Maintain drink presentation standards, including clean layers, proper fills, and aesthetic finishes.
• Maintain knowledge of current promotions and beverage offerings to effectively communicate with customers.
• Answer basic menu questions and suggest beverages when appropriate.
• Operate the POS system and process payments accurately.
• Assist in managing order flow efficiently during busy periods.
• Maintain cleanliness of the workspace, including equipment, tools, counters, and service areas.
• Wash tools (whisks, bowls, pitchers) regularly and follow food safety and sanitation standards.
• Assist in restocking supplies and organizing products to ensure the café is well-presented.
• Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting low inventory as needed.
• Provide guidance and support to new team members, contributing to a collaborative work environment.
• Maintain an organized workflow and prepare drinks in a timely manner without sacrificing quality.
• Uphold company policies and procedures while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
• Maintain the overall aesthetic of the bar and drink presentation in alignment with brand standards.
• Place completed drinks neatly for customer pickup.
• Be comfortable being filmed occasionally and maintain a clean, content-ready workspace.
• Assist with light content support, such as preparing visually appealing drinks when needed.
• Develop a strong understanding of menu items and basic matcha benefits to confidently communicate with customers.

Skills

• Proven experience in a café, beverage-focused, or similar customer service role is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers.
• Familiarity with POS systems and handling transactions.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with a broader customer base.
• Basic understanding of beverage preparation and measurements.
• Experience in supervising or training staff is advantageous.
• Knowledge of matcha preparation techniques and beverage equipment is beneficial but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail when maintaining workspace and inventory.
• Ability to maintain a calm, polished, and brand-aligned customer presence.
