Location: Lancaster General Hospital

Schedule:

  • Varied hours between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM
  • Every other weekend
  • Every other holiday

Position Summary

We are seeking a customer-focused Barista to prepare and serve espresso beverages, coffee drinks, and food items while delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and efficiency while creating a welcoming experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare espresso beverages, coffee drinks, and other menu items using standardized recipes.
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, supplies, and service areas.
  • Restock beverages, condiments, and supplies as needed.
  • Follow HACCP food safety guidelines and maintain proper food handling procedures.
  • Ensure proper food presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures.
  • Accurately explain menu offerings and assist customers with selections.
  • Process transactions through the POS system and handle cash and credit card payments.
  • Merchandise and display food items according to established standards.
  • Work efficiently to minimize wait times and maintain smooth customer flow.
  • Communicate customer concerns to supervisors as appropriate.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of food and beverage experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of barista experience.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and recipes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Ability to build positive customer relationships.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and accuracy.
