Role Description The Barista role is a partl-time, on-site position located at Jitterbugz Cafe & Beanery in Sanford, NC. In this role, the Barista prepares espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, teas, and other beverages to company standards, while ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation. Day-to-day tasks include greeting guests, taking orders, operating the POS system, handling payments, and providing prompt, friendly customer service. The Barista also assists with light food preparation, such as pastries and café items, maintains a clean and organized workstation, restocks supplies, and follows food safety and sanitation guidelines. Collaboration with team members, adherence to company policies, and support for a positive, inclusive work environment are essential.
Qualifications

• Barista skills, including espresso preparation, drink crafting, and familiarity with coffee equipment.
• Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills to engage guests, handle requests, and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Strong Communication skills for clear interaction with guests and team members.
• Food Preparation skills and basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderately heavy items, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting is preferred but not required.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
