Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Barista role based in Hicksville, NY. The Barista prepares and serves espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, teas, and other beverages according to MOKAFÉ’s quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include taking customer orders, operating coffee equipment, handling cash or point-of-sale systems, and maintaining a clean, organized bar and seating area. The Barista engages with guests in a friendly, professional manner, answers questions about the menu, and offers recommendations. The role also involves basic food preparation, restocking supplies, following food safety and sanitation guidelines, and supporting teammates during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Barista and Food Preparation skills, including experience with espresso machines, grinders, and basic café menu items.
• Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills to create a welcoming environment and build positive guest relationships.
• Strong Communication skills for clear, respectful interactions with guests and team members.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry supplies as needed, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous barista, café, or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn and follow established procedures is essential.
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented, with flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
