Barista

Role Description We are looking for a skilled barista who is willing to work with and teach our creative team as we work to set up our new coffee shop in Rockett’s Landing. Once open, you would ideally be one of our lead baristas!

The Barista role at The Biryani Corner is a part-time, on-site position based in Richmond, VA. In this role, the Barista prepares and serves a variety of hot and cold beverages, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to food safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include taking orders, operating coffee and espresso equipment, handling payments, and maintaining a clean and organized service area. The Barista interacts with guests, answers menu questions, and provides prompt, courteous service. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with light food preparation, restocking supplies, and supporting the front-of-house team during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Barista skills and experience with beverage preparation and coffee equipment.
• Candidates should possess solid Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills to provide a welcoming and efficient guest experience.
• Candidates should possess clear Communication skills for taking orders, answering questions, and coordinating with team members.
• Candidates should possess basic Food Preparation skills and an understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Additional qualifications include reliability, attention to detail, the ability to stand for extended periods, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
• Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting is preferred but not required.
