The Role: Barista & Craft Specialist

At Shug’s, we operate as a unified, cross-trained team. While your primary focus will be crafting exceptional coffee and espresso drinks in the heart of historic Pike Place Market, every team member learns to master every station behind the counter. Whether we are hosting quiet morning coffee regular routines or handling bustling afternoon ice cream rushes, flexibility and teamwork keep our shop running smoothly!

In this role, you will:

• Pull consistent espresso shots, steam milk properly, and craft staple coffee items including lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, drip coffee, and our signature affogatos.
• Step into the role of a classic Soda Jerk and Ice Cream Scooper by mixing milkshakes, crafting signature sundaes, portioning scoops, and serving handcrafted sodas with perfect syrup-to-carbonation ratios.
• Guide tourists and locals alike through our menu with care and enthusiasm.
• Operate the POS & Cashier Station: Handle transactions swiftly, manage tip processing, and guide guests through payments while keeping the line moving efficiently.

What We Look For:

• Sincere kindness, enthusiasm, and a desire to make every guest feel like a regular.
• Prior experience pulling espresso shots and steaming milk is preferred, along with a commitment to speed, accuracy, and presentation.
• A positive, uplifting attitude, active communication, and willingness to step in wherever needed.
• Punctuality is key to keeping shifts seamless and our team supported.
• Ability to hold or obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card and MAST certification
