Part-Time | Experienced Barista

The Cocoa Muse is looking for an experienced, dependable Barista to join our team. This position is focused on afternoon/evening and weekend coverage, with previous professional barista experience required.

COMPENSATION

• Starting at $13/hour

• Plus generally generous customer tips

• Opportunities for additional hours and increased responsibility for the right candidate

We are looking for someone who is confident behind the bar, understands espresso and café workflow, provides excellent customer service, and can reliably commit to consistent availability.

SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY

Minimum availability needed:

• Monday–Thursday: Available from 3:00 PM–5:30 PM

• Friday: Available from 3:00 PM–9:30 PM

• Saturday: Open availability

• Sunday: Open availability

Weekday morning availability is not needed at this time.

Candidates should have consistent availability across these time periods. Strong preference will be given to applicants who are available for multiple weekday afternoons/evenings and weekend shifts.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Prepare espresso drinks, coffee, teas, specialty drinks, and other menu items to The Cocoa Muse's standards

• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment confidently and safely

• Provide friendly, attentive customer service

• Take orders and accurately process payments

• Maintain a clean and organized bar and customer area

• Restock supplies and communicate inventory needs

• Follow recipes, portion standards, and food-safety procedures

• Work efficiently during busy afternoon, evening, and weekend periods

• Complete cleaning, dishes, restocking, and closing responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the team to provide an excellent guest experience

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

• Previous barista experience

• Hands-on experience with espresso machines and grinders

• Ability to prepare espresso-based drinks confidently and consistently

• Strong customer-service skills

• Reliable and punctual

• Strong attention to cleanliness and organization

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Consistent afternoon/evening and weekend availability

Preferred:

• Specialty coffee experience

• Experience in a busy café, coffee shop, or restaurant

• Experience with Square or similar POS systems

• Experience with café opening/closing procedures
