As Mackinac Island’s only full-service, casually elegant resort, we are seeking an enthusiastic and service-driven Barista / Coffee Shop Clerk to join our culinary team and provide warm, attentive service in our coffee and beverage outlets.

About The Role

The Barista / Coffee Shop Clerk plays a key role in delivering high-quality beverages, freshly prepared food items, and exceptional guest service. This hands-on position includes crafting coffee and espresso drinks, operating point-of-sale systems, maintaining a clean and inviting café space, and assisting guests with orders and inquiries.

This position is ideal for a guest-focused professional who enjoys fast-paced service, has a passion for coffee and beverages, and takes pride in delivering consistently excellent service.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: Previous barista, café, or hospitality experience preferred but not required
• Professional Traits: Friendly, professional, detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to exceptional guest service
• Problem-Solving: Ability to handle guest requests and concerns with patience, empathy, and professionalism
• Communication: Strong verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with guests from diverse backgrounds
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and operate coffee equipment safely
• Location Requirement: Must be able to live and work on Mackinac Island during the operating season
