The property offers a wide range of facilitated adventures such as zipline tours, high ropes, climbing tower, archery, and team-building challenges, along with extensive recreation options including gymnasiums, sports fields, and an outdoor swimming pool. Guests can choose from several lodging styles, including bunkhouses, lodge rooms, and fully furnished family cabins, all professionally cleaned and maintained. The center also features flexible meeting spaces with audio/visual capabilities and a dining hall serving hot buffet-style meals for up to 320 people. Located at 455 Camp Road in Stevens, PA, Refreshing Mountain serves groups of many sizes seeking engaging activities, comfortable accommodations, and quality hospitality.

Role Description The Cafe and Pool Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Stevens, PA, responsible for overseeing daily operations of both the outdoor swimming pool and the onsite cafe. This role includes managing pool safety, supervising lifeguards and seasonal staff, coordinating swim instruction offerings, and ensuring proper pool service, cleanliness, and maintenance. In the cafe, the manager oversees food service operations, including staffing, scheduling, inventory, and quality control, while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. The manager collaborates with retreat and activities staff to align pool and cafe services with group schedules and events, provides responsive guest service, and assists with training and performance feedback for team members. Regular responsibilities include monitoring customer satisfaction, resolving issues, and supporting a welcoming, efficient environment for guests.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide and oversee swim instruction and general swimming activities; strong comfort and proficiency in the water.
• Supervisory skills to lead lifeguards and cafe staff, including scheduling, training, and performance support.
• Lifeguarding certification, with a strong focus on water safety, emergency response, and incident prevention.
• Knowledge of pool service and maintenance, including water quality monitoring, equipment care, and adherence to safety regulations.
• Experience in food service or hospitality management, including customer service, basic inventory control, and health code compliance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse guests and team members.
• Organizational and time-management skills to coordinate multiple operational areas and group schedules.
• Ability to work on-site, including weekends and peak seasons, and to perform physical tasks typical of pool and cafe environments.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, lifeguard certification, food safety/servsafe) are highly beneficial.
