Cafe Assistant

Brief Description

The Café Assistant completes a variety of tasks to ensure Green Tomato Café guests are well served and café processes run smoothly. These tasks include, but are not limited to: cashier, busser, dishwasher and cook duties. This team member will serve wherever needed for the Green Tomato Café team. Additionally, the Café Assistant will provide periodic support to the Conference Center for events. To be successful in this position a positive, team-oriented attitude that centers around guest satisfaction will be required. The Café Assistant will report to the Café Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• Basic math and computer skills required, along with the ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual skills are a plus.
• Candidates should have a basic understanding of food preparation, kitchen safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.
• Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment, take direction well, and demonstrate experience working with diverse populations.
• Strong integrity, accountability, organizational skills, and a commitment to providing quality food and excellent customer service are essential.
• The role requires the ability to accurately handle cash transactions, stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 35 pounds regularly, and remain calm and productive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• A strong commitment to and alignment with the mission of Lawndale Christian Health Center is required.
