Summary: A Refreshment Make Ready Tech at American Food & Vending will prepare and service coffee and beverage equipment ensuring machines operate safely and efficiently. This role combines technical repair work, preventive maintenance, and customer service, requiring adaptability and hands-on problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Clean, prepare, install, and maintain various refreshment machines, including beverage dispensers, coffee brewers, and water filtration units, ensuring all equipment meets company standards for hygiene and performance.
- Maintain vending inventories by monitoring stock levels, restocking supplies as necessary, ordering repair parts, and accurately keeping service and maintenance records to support seamless operations.
- Conduct routine maintenance by cleaning, oiling, and inspecting machine components, calibrating and adjusting pressure gauges, thermostats, and timers to ensure efficient and reliable machine operation.
- Diagnosing issues with machine motors, switches, wiring, electronic control boards, water systems, and refrigeration systems; perform necessary repairs or coordinate with senior technicians for complex cases.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed, including assisting with special projects, training new team members, or supporting broader company initiatives during peak periods.
- Technical school, Certification, or an associate degree in related field preferred: Candidates who have completed vocational training, earned industry-recognized certifications, or obtained an associate degree in fields such as electronics, appliance repair, HVAC, or a related discipline will be strongly considered.
- 3+ years of relevant experience with POS or Kiosk preferred: Applicants should ideally bring at least three years of hands-on experience working with point-of-sale (POS) systems, self-service kiosks, or similar automated vending and refreshment machines. This experience ensures familiarity with installation, diagnostics, and repair of complex equipment in a commercial or service-oriented environment.
- Basic knowledge of microprocessors, integrated circuits, robotics, and automated functions: A strong candidate demonstrates an understanding of how modern vending and refreshment equipment operates, including the role of microprocessors, integrated circuits, and robotics in controlling automated processes. Comfort with reading schematics and troubleshooting electronic circuits is highly valued.
- Lifting, bending, walking, driving, climbing stairs; able to lift 40+ lbs. as needed: The role is physically demanding, often requiring movement between client sites and the transport or installation of heavy equipment. Candidates must be comfortable with frequent lifting (over 40 pounds), walking long distances, bending, climbing stairs, and working in various environments, including tight or awkward spaces.
- Possess a valid state driver's license that is in good standing: Since travel to multiple locations may be required at times, a current and clean state-issued driver’s license is essential. Candidates must be able to safely operate company vehicles and comply with all relevant driving regulations.
