About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and team-focused Dish Steward to support our MK Kitchen Production team. The Dish Steward is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment—including helping maintain building cleanliness—by washing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and equipment while supporting daily kitchen operations, adhering to all USDA facility regulations and Grant of Inspection protocols. This role plays a critical part in maintaining food safety, operational efficiency, and workplace cleanliness in a fast-paced production kitchen environment.

What You’ll Do
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and catering equipment using manual and machine methods.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dishwashing area throughout the shift.
- Clean kitchen workstations, tables, floors, walls, shelves, equipment, and other assigned areas.
- Maintain and clean the dish machine, floor drains, food traps, grease traps, mops, mop buckets, and garbage receptacles.
- Keep cleaning supplies, detergents, soaps, and towels stocked and organized.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, chemical handling, and cross-contamination prevention procedures.
- Assist kitchen staff with cleaning and maintaining common areas, break areas, and building entrances.
- Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, spills, or other issues to the supervisor.
- Follow USDA and company sanitation requirements applicable to the MK Kitchen.
- Support the team in meeting daily cleaning and operational needs.
- A reliable team member who takes pride in keeping work areas clean and organized.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
- Ability to follow cleaning, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
- Basic math skills and accuracy in counting.
- Previous commercial kitchen experience is preferred but not required.
- Valid Oregon Food Handler’s Certification required.
- Ability to communicate in English or Spanish for workplace communication.
