The General Manager (GM) is the face of Tatte within our communities and to our guests. General Managers are responsible for all facets of café operations, dedicated to delivering a warm, authentic, and inspiring environment for both guests and team members, while driving operational excellence and overall café performance.

Our General Managers work side by side with the Front of House team and in partnership with the Cafe Head Chef and Back of House team to uphold Tatte’s standards across hospitality, quality, service, and financial performance.

We are looking for leaders who are passionate about hospitality, thrive in fast paced environments, and have the ability to inspire, develop, and lead strong teams while maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

We expect our General Managers to:

Summary Of Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate complete ownership of the business, including full responsibility for café operations and P&L performance
  • Model authentic and engaging hospitality while creating a welcoming café environment
  • Ensure the café is appropriately staffed with team members who embody Tatte’s values
  • Identify, develop, and retain strong talent across all levels of the café
  • Lead performance management conversations and provide ongoing coaching and development
  • Maintain and uphold all Tatte brand and visual standards
  • Drive operational execution through strong leadership and accountability
  • Ensure food safety, sanitation, and operational compliance standards are consistently met
  • Lead café level communication and change management initiatives related to new products, service standards, and operational updates
  • Manage food, labor, and controllable costs within company expectations
  • Oversee all café administrative responsibilities
  • Other related assignments as necessary

Essential Functions / Working Conditions

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergencies as needed
  • Ability to work 10+ hour shifts and stand, sit, squat, or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs and read operational materials
  • Ability to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working as a General Manager, preferably in a high volume, full service, or polished fast casual restaurant environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced and constantly evolving environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • High integrity and professionalism
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Preferred Skills

  • Hospitality degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or Restaurant Management preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Previous experience with UltiPro, Toast POS, CrunchTime, and TeamworX preferred
  • ServSafe, Allergen, and ChokeSaver certifications preferred
