Role Description The GM Johnny Doughnuts Oxbow role is a full-time, on-site position based in Napa, CA, responsible for leading all daily operations of the Oxbow location. The General Manager oversees front-of-house and back-of-house activities, including staff scheduling, training, and performance management to ensure consistent, friendly, and efficient service. This role monitors product quality and freshness, manages inventory and ordering, and ensures compliance with food safety, cleanliness, and health standards. The General Manager is accountable for achieving sales and profitability goals, analyzing store performance, and implementing initiatives to drive revenue and control costs. The role also involves building a positive, inclusive team culture, resolving guest issues, coordinating with company leadership on promotions and events, and representing the Johnny Doughnuts brand in the local community.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in retail, café, or restaurant management, including supervision of front-line teams and daily operations.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills, including coaching, conflict resolution, and fostering an inclusive, supportive work environment.
  • Proficiency in cash handling, basic budgeting, and understanding of store-level financials such as sales, labor, and cost of goods.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and health department regulations in a food-service environment.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle busy periods and guest concerns calmly and professionally.
  • Organizational and time-management abilities to manage staffing, inventory, and operational tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Comfort with basic point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory tools, and scheduling software.
  • Ability to work on-site full time in Napa, CA, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Previous experience with bakery, café, or specialty food concepts is preferred; passion for high-quality food and guest experience is essential.
