Manufacturing Facilities Manager

Schedule: Monday to Friday: 8 AM - 5PM

(Must have availability outside of standard hours when needed to address critical equipment or facility/production issues)

This position is a 100% in-person role. The successful candidate will be expected to work in person on all scheduled workdays and must reside in Omaha, NE.

Description

The Manager, Manufacturing Facility Maintenance oversees all aspects of maintenance for Scooter’s manufacturing facilities, including the upkeep of buildings, grounds, utilities, machinery, and production equipment across the warehouse, bakery, and roastery. This role leads preventive and corrective maintenance efforts, manages facility and manufacturing maintenance projects, oversees contractor and vendor relationships, and proactively communicates risks and needs to leadership to minimize downtime and ensure full operational capacity. This position supports manufacturing teams with a strong sense of urgency while consistently demonstrating Scooter’s core values of Integrity, Love, Humility, and Courage in all internal and external interactions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead all maintenance processes and operations

• Perform effective troubleshooting to diagnose problems and repair or replace equipment, utilities, and structures

• Conduct regular inspections of the facilities and equipment to detect and resolve problems before failures occur

• Develop, implement and execute preventive maintenance procedures and QMs on all machinery, equipment and systems

• Plan and manage all repair and installation activities

• Document all maintenance team work in Scooter’s Coffee maintenance system

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other external partners

• Prioritize maintenance, repairs, and projects and evaluate and communicate cost estimates for all

• Track expenses and oversee the Facilities Maintenance budget

• Lead capital projects or small construction as directed

• Help leadership facilitate time studies to improve equipment and process efficiencies and set labor standards in the bakery and roastery

• Conduct all work with safety front of mind

• Must adhere to all Scooter’s Coffee work, safety, food safety and GMP standards at all times

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Scooter’s Coffee employees and leadership

• Lead and develop the maintenance team of employees

• Work cross-functionally with all Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams and leaders

Qualifications

• 7+ years of applicable Manufacturing or Facilities maintenance experience

• Experience with Coffee Roasting or Probat Roasters a plus but not required

• Experience with Packaging machines and Label printers plus but not required

• Experience leading and developing a team of maintenance technicians preferred

• Ability to lead and work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator

• Experience performing and leading maintenance trades such as electrical, mechanical, welding, pipe fitting, fabrication, rigging systems, gearbox and bearing, lubrication, pumps, and piping systems, hydraulic and pneumatic

Experience managing the following aspects of facility maintenance:

• Office cleaning, warehouse equipment service, building maintenance
• Cooler and freezer compressor service, air compressor service and general office HVAC
• Yard care and sprinklers, snow removal, pest control services
• Trash compactor, fire extinguishers and fire systems
• Experience with CAD and/or Trane HVAC handling systems preferred

• Stand, sit, stoop, climb, kneel and crouch occasionally throughout a day
• Hear, see, and speak within a loud environment
• Work in varying temperature zones, from freezer temperatures to non-air-conditioned temperatures in the summer
