Role Overview

The Master Coffee Roaster is responsible for transforming green coffee beans into aromatic, flavorful roasts that meet brand standards and customer expectations. This role requires deep expertise in roasting techniques, sensory evaluation, and quality control, with the ability to innovate and mentor others

Responsibilities

Lead roasting operations: Oversee the roasting of a variety of green coffee beans, ensuring optimal flavor extraction and quality control.

Develop roast profiles: Create and refine roasting profiles to enhance unique flavor characteristics and meet market demands.

Sensory evaluation: Assess roast quality, consistency, and make data-driven improvements.

Sourcing: Select high-quality green beans based on flavor profiles, sustainability, and ethical practices.

Mentor and train: Train junior roasters and staff on roasting techniques, equipment operation, and best practices.

Maintain documentation: Implement and maintain records of roasting profiles, quality control measures, and production standards.

Attention to detail, precision, and consistency in production

Qualifications

Experience: 3+ years in coffee roasting with a proven track record of developing unique roast profiles

• Knowledge: Extensive understanding of coffee varieties, processing methods, and flavor profiles
• Skills: Strong sensory evaluation skills, ability to articulate tasting notes, and proficiency with commercial roasting equipment
