The Mission We are seeking an entrepreneurial Master Roaster & B2B Sales Specialist to own our coffee program from green sourcing to the final cup.
This is a unique hybrid role designed for a master craftsperson who wants to step out from behind the machine and actively build an empire. You will have creative control over profile-mapping, quality control, and production at our brand-new Rockland County, NY facility, while simultaneously driving our B2B growth engine through white-label partnerships, corporate accounts, and premium retail placements throughout the NYC metro area.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production & Roasting (10-15 Hours/Week Initially)
- Profile & Roast: Establish, log, and maintain signature roast profiles for our core lineup and seasonal offerings.
- Equipment Ownership: Operate, clean, and maintain industrial roasting equipment, ensuring absolute quality control and consistency.
- Supply Chain: Manage green coffee inventory, sourcing logistics, sample roasting, and routine cupping sessions.
- Fulfillment: Oversee the packaging, fulfillment, and shipping infrastructure for retail, wholesale, and e-commerce orders.
- Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with NYS Agriculture & Markets food processing and safety standards.
2. B2B Sales & Business Development (Uncapped Commission)
- White-Label Growth: Prospect, pitch, and secure private-label and white-label roasting contracts for high-volume accounts (cafes, restaurants, hospitality brands).
- Retail Placement: Drive retail placements in premium grocers, boutique markets, and specialty shops across the tri-state area.
- Corporate Accounts: Build and scale a pipeline of premium corporate office coffee programs.
- Account Management: Act as the face of the brand, managing wholesale client relationships to ensure long-term retention.
3. Retail Alignment
- Team Training: Collaborate with our upcoming flagship retail team to train baristas on coffee origins, tasting notes, and proper brewing parameters.
Who You Are
- The Craftsperson: 3+ years of commercial roasting experience. You possess a deep, technical understanding of roast profiling software, green coffee chemistry, and sensory analysis.
- The Hustler: A natural aptitude for B2B sales and relationship-building. You are energized by cold outreach, pitching to decision-makers, and negotiating commercial agreements.
- The Builder: You want to be part of an early-stage brand launch. You thrive with autonomy, take pride in operational efficiency, and want your compensation directly tied to the growth you generate.
- Logistics: Must be able to work on-site at our Rockland County facility and travel throughout the NYC metro area for sales outreach.
