Reports To: Director of El Camino

Schedule: Rotating schedule of weekdays and weekends as required

Status: Full-time

Summary: The Manager provides oversight of the Padre Margil Pilgrimage Center and its staff. This includes the café and gift shop as well as the POS system. In addition, the Pilgrimage Center Manager oversees the facility and vendors providing product and services to the pilgrimage center including the cleaning contractors. Additional responsibilities include welcoming pilgrimage groups and individuals, coordinating with youth and young adults, providing spiritual programming and the development of pilgrimage materials and resources.

Requirements

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site Café and Gift Shop Oversight monitoring employees, inventory, and the POS system
  • Oversee product and food inventory and orders
  • Manage appropriate levels of stock and purchases while staying on budget
  • Overseeing the maintenance, cleaning, and vendors of the Padre Margil Pilgrimage Center and Pope Francis Center
  • Welcome pilgrims and pilgrimage groups, answer questions and advise them on the touch screen displays
  • Develop spiritual programming and pilgrimage materials and resources.
  • Meet and exceed organizational goals through optimal utilization of personnel and resources
  • Monitor team productivity and provide performance evaluations, constructive feedback, mentorship, and disciplinary action when necessary
  • Set performance goals and deadlines in alignment with organizations vision, monitor budget, and report variances to senior managers
  • Motivate employees by resolving issues and making sound decisions
  • Monitors staff hours, reviews and approves timesheets in a timely manner
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and Faith and Morals Policy is mandatory.
  • Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self and others.

Education

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • College bachelor degree preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years working in a Catholic environment
  • Ministry experience in Religious education or Youth groups preferred
  • Experience in operations
  • Experience in managing vendors to include but not limited to selecting vendors, getting bids, etc.
  • Experience in retail operations
  • Experience with parish communications and the development of materials for parishes and schools.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)

License And Credentials

  • Reliable transportation
  • Food handlers license preferred or ability to obtain one

Minimum Knowledge And Skills

  • Knowledge of and the ability to operate a cash register/point of sales system while following cash handling guidelines
  • Ability to read and understand financial documents including profit and loss statements
  • Experience and knowledge of computer software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with the public
  • Must have a welcoming spirit/attitude
  • Ability to oversee the preparation and service of food and drinks following Health Department Standards
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have in depth knowledge of the Catholic Church and San Antonio Missions
