AboutAt Algrano, a Swiss tech-focused coffee startup, we are on a mission to reshape the global coffee trade. We are driven by an ambitious goal: to revolutionize an age-old industry by making it transparent, digital, and fair.
Through our online marketplace, coffee farmers can directly promote and sell their coffees to roasters across Europe and North America. Algrano provides both the digital marketplace and the physical offline infrastructure—including logistics, insurance, and financing—to make direct trade seamless.
By directly connecting the two ends of the supply chain, Algrano creates profound social and environmental impact. Our scalability and success are well-recognized: we currently serve over 1,000 sellers and roasters in more than 50 countries, won the Specialty Coffee Association’s Best Product and Innovation awards (2015 & 2022), ranked among the top 3 companies for the Green Business Award in 2025, and hold the Swiss Economic Forum High Potential Growth label.
To help us achieve our vision of becoming the premier platform for direct coffee trading globally, Algrano is seeking a Roaster Engagement Manager to join our team remotely in Latin America or North America.
The roleAs Roaster Engagement Manager you will be responsible for engaging with coffee roasters across Europe and US, sharing how Algrano’s platform can transform the way they source coffee. You will serve as an ambassador for our mission, connecting with quality-driven and transparency-focused roasters and providing your insights and expertise to help shape the future of coffee sourcing. By enabling relationships between roasters and growers, you change the supply chain of coffee and ultimately the living conditions of the people producing it. Your main focus will be point person for seller-led deals, onboarding roasters to the Algrano platform, executing related tasks and staying on schedule for shipment timelines.
Establish Roaster Relationships
Seamless Onboarding: Lead the integration of new roasters introduced via the seller network, ensuring they are successfully onboarded by following Algrano's established operational playbooks.
Strategic Outreach: Actively engage with European and US roasters by identifying pain points and providing one to many solutions.
Market Intelligence: Develop and present regular analyses on roaster requirements. Your findings will be instrumental in defining the strategic priorities and upcoming initiatives for the broader Commercial Team.
Experience & Hard Skills
Supply Chain Curiosity: While a background in the coffee industry is a plus, it is not a prerequisite. What matters most is your deep intellectual curiosity and the cognitive agility to quickly master complex trading systems, agricultural logistics, and global supply chains.
Roastery Operations Experience: While not a strict prerequisite, bringing 3-5 years of experience inside roastery operations is highly advantageous and will directly support the roaster onboarding-heavy portion of this role.
Platform Dynamics: You have a deep understanding of multi-sided marketplaces (B2B or B2C). You know how to balance supply and demand, manage platform offers and banners and minimize friction between buyers and sellers.
Data Affinity: Love for numbers and solid data analytics background.
Academic Foundation or Equivalent Expertise: You hold a university degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or Technology) or you bring a deep, proven track record of hands-on success within the industry.
Language & Location: Fluency in English is mandatory. You are based in South or North America as we are growing fast in the US.
Leadership & Cultural Fit
Customer Advocate: You place the customer at the heart of every decision. You possess a natural ability to empathize with user pain points and translate customer needs into seamless, value-driven marketplace experiences.
Cross-Team Collaboration: You excel at navigating the intersections of diverse departments, bridging gaps between Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Growth. You translate complex challenges into clear business impact and unite multifunctional teams under a collective vision.
Entrepreneurial Mindset: You bring a proven track record of building operational structures from scratch, overcoming complex implementation hurdles, and distilling intricate systems into simple, actionable logic. You are energized by the opportunity to actively shape the future of a scaling business.
Down-to-Earth Ambition: You deeply resonate with our core values. You know how to dream big and maintain a fierce ambition for growth, while keeping your feet firmly on the ground and remaining humble, collaborative, and approachable in all circumstances.
