Matcha Specialist & Café Sales Consultant

Tay Leaf | Los Angeles

Tay Leaf is a Japanese matcha company based in downtown Los Angeles. We’re looking for someone with strong, hands on matcha knowledge who can help cafés build successful matcha programs and bring new café partners to Tay Leaf.

You should be comfortable evaluating matcha, explaining differences in flavor and quality, preparing excellent drinks, and teaching café teams how to achieve consistent results.

What you’ll do:

• Introduce Tay Leaf to cafés and build relationships with owners and beverage teams
• Lead matcha tastings and help prospective partners evaluate our product
• Develop recipes and advise on preparation, equipment, batching, and café workflow
• Help cafés create matcha menus suited to their customers
• Train staff on preparation techniques and consistent drink quality
• Follow up on samples and tastings to turn interest into wholesale partnerships
• Support new café partners as they launch their matcha programs

What we’re looking for:

• •Strong working knowledge of Japanese matcha, including flavor profiles, sourcing, storage, and preparation
• Hands on experience preparing and serving matcha in a café, tea shop, or similar setting
• Ability to troubleshoot issues with taste, texture, temperature, and consistency
• Confidence leading tastings and training café teams
• A personable, organized approach to outreach and follow up
• Comfort with sales and developing new business relationships

Experience developing matcha menus, consulting for cafés, or selling specialty beverages is a plus. Los Angeles based candidates are preferred for in person visits and tastings.
