A sensory scientist contributes to Starbucks' success by designing and executing research which is organized, coordinated with stakeholders, and aligned with other project researchers on the team.
As a sensory scientist, you will…
- Manages projects in accordance with available Starbucks established project and program management methodologies
- Supports pulling together and leveraging project resources such as consumers, panelists, materials and budget, with support
- Ensure the timing, scope and resources assigned to each project is aligned with the business unit's leaders and company's goals
- Applies knowledge, processes, skills, tools and techniques to research projects in order to meet project objectives
- Drives to design research that is executed accurately and efficiently and aligned to the business objectives, functional area and/or company goals and strategies
- Bachelor's degree - sensory evaluation or product development experience in food/beverage, or behavior/psychology, preferred
- Laboratory and equipment operation, calibration and maintenance - 3 years
- Designing research and analyzing data using statistical software - 3 years
- Sensory training and test execution for a food or beverage company including focus group and other qualitative testing – 3 years
- If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
