Role Description The Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing coffee roasting and related equipment at customer locations. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing technical issues, performing routine and preventive maintenance, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. The role involves traveling to cafés and roasteries, documenting service activities, and maintaining accurate records of parts and labor. The Service Technician will collaborate closely with customer teams to explain findings, recommend solutions, and provide basic equipment training.
Qualifications
- Strong Maintenance & Repair skills for mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on coffee roasting and café equipment.
- Advanced Troubleshooting skills to diagnose equipment issues efficiently and implement safe, effective solutions.
- Experience in Field Service, including on-site visits, working in customer environments, and managing service schedules.
- Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and support customers of varying technical backgrounds.
- Hands-on Maintenance experience using tools, test equipment, and safety procedures in a technical or industrial setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical trade school certificate or associate degree in electronics, mechanics, or a related field is beneficial.
- Ability to lift and move equipment as needed, stand for extended periods, and work safely around heat, moving parts, and electrical components.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel within the Houston area and occasionally beyond.
- Basic computer skills for documentation, email, and service reporting; familiarity with CRM or service management tools is a plus.
- Prior experience with coffee equipment or foodservice machinery
Location: Houston, TX
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, with flexibility for evenings and weekends for events and trainings.
