Role Description The Shift Supervisor is a part-time, on-site role located in Baton Rouge, LA, responsible for leading store operations during assigned shifts. This role oversees partner deployment, monitors store performance, and supports a smooth and efficient workflow while maintaining Starbucks standards for customer service, cleanliness, and product quality. The Shift Supervisor coaches and guides partners, helps resolve customer concerns, and ensures adherence to health, safety, and cash-handling procedures. Day-to-day tasks include opening or closing the store, coordinating breaks, supporting inventory and restocking, and communicating operational priorities to the team. The Shift Supervisor also reinforces the Starbucks culture, models the company’s values, and contributes to a welcoming environment for customers and partners.

Qualifications

  • Customer service and hospitality skills, including the ability to create a welcoming environment, address customer needs, and resolve concerns professionally.
  • Team leadership and people management skills, such as coaching, delegating tasks, providing feedback, and supporting partner development.
  • Operational and organizational skills, including shift management, cash-handling accuracy, basic inventory support, and adherence to safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, partners, and store leadership.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and repetitive motions.
  • Prior experience in retail, food service, or supervisory roles is preferred but not required.
  • Availability to work a flexible part-time schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
