What we're looking for
Riverline Coffee is looking for outgoing, versatile individuals to join us as a Shop Associate. As a Shop Associate, you are our lead greeter, bar support, and cashier. You’ll be the first person our neighbors see when they walk in, and the teammate who keeps the engine running by prepping the "simple wins"—from refreshing teas to perfectly toasted pastries.

We are looking for a multi-tasker who thrives on hospitality, keeping things organized, and takes their work seriously but doesn’t take themselves too seriously. If you’re the person who loves being in the thick of the action and making people feel at home, we would love to have you join us!

Responsibilities
Operations
  • Prepare "simple drinks" including teas, refreshers, and batch brew coffee to our quality standards.
  • Manage the pastry case, including warming pastries to order and keeping the display stocked and clean.
  • Act as "Back Bar" support, assisting baristas with restocking, cup prepping, and clearing counters during rushes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the bar area, guest seating, and restrooms.
  • Complete essential "flow" tasks like restocking napkins, straws, and sleeves before they run low.
  • Collaborate on social media content and be comfortable being featured on camera.

Staffing
  • Support your team by communicating well and keeping the workflow moving during busy shifts.

Customer Service
  • Welcome and build connections with every guest to set the tone for the Riverline experience.
  • Share your knowledge of our menu to help guests find something they’ll love.
  • Manage the POS system with speed and accuracy, handling transactions and helping guests navigate the menu.

Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of work experience; hospitality or retail experience is a plus.
  • A desire to learn about specialty coffee and manual brewing techniques.
  • Must have a food handler certificate (or obtain) and be aware of food health and safety rules.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, clean, customer-focused coffee shop while maintaining exceptional customer service.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including AM/PM, weekends and some holidays.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30lbs.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly, non-exempt: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
  • Free coffee, merch, and employee discounts
  • Training and development programs
  • Paid time off
