Position Summary

The Starbucks Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the in-store Starbucks operation, ensuring an exceptional customer experience, strong financial performance, and full compliance with Starbucks and company standards. This role drives sales, develops partners (employees), and maintains a clean, welcoming, and efficiently run environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Store Operations
    • Oversee daily Starbucks operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow
    • Maintain brand standards for beverage quality, food safety, and store presentation
    • Ensure proper opening, closing, and cash handling procedures are followed
  • Customer Experience
    • Deliver and uphold the Starbucks “customer-first” experience
    • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally
    • Foster a welcoming, clean, and energized café environment
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Recruit, train, schedule, and develop Starbucks partners
    • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and recognition
    • Create a positive team culture focused on accountability and excellence
  • Sales & Financial Performance
    • Drive sales through product availability, promotions, and suggestive selling
    • Manage labor to align with business needs and productivity goals
    • Monitor and control costs including waste and shrink
  • Merchandising & Standards
    • Execute merchandising displays and promotional setups according to plan
    • Ensure accurate pricing and signage
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all work and customer areas
  • Inventory & Ordering
    • Manage inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing waste
    • Oversee ordering, receiving, and proper storage of all products
    • Ensure adherence to rotation and freshness standards
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
    • Follow all Starbucks and company operating procedures
    • Maintain a safe environment for both customers and associates
Qualifications

  • Previous coffee, food service, or retail management experience required
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
