Role Description The Barista role is a full-time, on-site position located in Salt Lake City, UT. The Barista prepares and serves high-quality coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area. Daily tasks include operating coffee equipment, handling food preparation for light snacks or pastries, restocking supplies, and following standard recipes and presentation guidelines. The Barista interacts with guests, takes orders accurately, processes payments, and provides friendly, efficient customer service that aligns with the hotel’s luxury standards. This role also involves collaborating with team members, adhering to health and safety regulations, and supporting a welcoming ambiance in the café or lobby bar area.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to engage warmly with guests and build positive relationships.
- Barista experience and food preparation skills, including operating espresso machines and following recipes consistently.
- Effective communication skills for taking orders, explaining menu items, and coordinating with team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high service standards.
- Basic math and cash-handling abilities, with familiarity using point-of-sale systems.
- Reliability in maintaining punctuality, flexible scheduling (including weekends and holidays), and professional appearance.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices; prior hospitality or hotel experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training.
