Description

Chaumont Bakery is seeking a warm, polished, and dependable Part-Time Barista to join our retail café team.

The Barista supports daily café operations by preparing beverages, maintaining a clean and organized station, providing thoughtful guest service, and upholding Chaumont’s standards for quality, hospitality, cleanliness, and presentation.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced café environment, takes pride in consistency, and understands that every guest interaction is part of the Chaumont experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare espresso drinks, teas, matcha, specialty beverages, and seasonal café offerings according to Chaumont standards.
  • Maintain beverage quality, drink presentation, timing, and consistency during service.
  • Provide warm, professional, and efficient guest service.
  • Support front-of-house flow, order accuracy, guest communication, and timely handoff.
  • Keep the barista station clean, stocked, organized, and ready throughout the shift.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, labeling, dating, storage, and cleanliness standards.
  • Restock beverage supplies, packaging, retail items, and front-of-house materials as needed.
  • Communicate product shortages, guest concerns, equipment issues, or operational needs to leadership.
  • Support team members during peak service periods.
  • Follow Chaumont policies regarding attendance, appearance, breaks, professionalism, and workplace conduct.

  • Qualifications

    • Prior barista, café, bakery, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred.
    • Espresso, milk steaming, tea, matcha, or specialty beverage experience preferred.
    • Strong guest service and communication skills.
    • Ability to work with urgency while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
    • Dependable, punctual, organized, and team-oriented.
    • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, restocking, and cleaning during scheduled shifts.
    • Must have availability based on business needs, including weekends, holidays, mornings, evenings, and peak service periods.
    • California Food Handler Card required within seven calendar days of hire.
