Position Summary
Chaumont Bakery is seeking a polished, dependable, and service-driven Part-Time Barista Lead to support daily café operations, beverage execution, team communication, and the overall guest experience.
The Barista Lead is responsible for preparing high-quality beverages, maintaining barista station standards, supporting front-of-house flow, and helping guide team members during service. This role is ideal for someone who leads by example, communicates clearly, and takes ownership of quality, cleanliness, urgency, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso drinks, teas, matcha, specialty beverages, and seasonal café offerings according to Chaumont standards.
- Lead by example during service by maintaining beverage quality, timing, presentation, and consistency.
- Support café flow, guest communication, order accuracy, line movement, and timely handoff.
- Assist with team direction during scheduled shifts, including station support, restocking, cleanliness, and service priorities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and guest-ready barista station throughout the shift.
- Support opening, mid-shift, and closing standards as assigned.
- Communicate product shortages, guest concerns, equipment issues, sanitation concerns, or operational needs to leadership.
- Help reinforce Chaumont standards for hospitality, appearance, food safety, cleanliness, and professionalism.
- Support training and coaching of barista and front-of-house team members when needed.
- Follow Chaumont policies regarding attendance, breaks, scheduling, workplace conduct, and guest service expectations.
Qualifications
- Prior barista, café, bakery, restaurant, or hospitality experience required.
- Prior lead, keyholder, shift lead, trainer, or supervisor experience preferred.
- Strong espresso, milk steaming, tea, matcha, and specialty beverage knowledge preferred.
- Strong guest service, communication, and team support skills.
- Ability to work with urgency while maintaining accuracy, calmness, and professionalism.
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and solution-oriented.
- Comfortable supporting team members in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, restock, clean, and support café operations during scheduled shifts.
- Must have availability based on business needs, including weekends, holidays, mornings, evenings, and peak service periods.
- California Food Handler Card required within seven calendar days of hire.
