Role Description

Felius is seeking an experienced Barista (please do not apply without any experience) with a love for cats to join our team! In this role, you’ll serve delicious drinks, create an exceptional guest experience, and help keep our cat playroom sparkling clean, especially during Monday deep cleans.

Coverage Needs

• Barista: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Opening (7:30AM-2PM) vs closing shifts (2-7:30PM) can be negotiated on those dates. Additional availability is a plus. 
• Monday deep cleaning hours are flexible, but tasks generally take 4 hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve beverages with care and consistency, maintaining high-quality standards.
• Greet and check-in guests for cat playroom sessions and events, reviewing house rules.
• Handle orders, answer phone calls, and provide outstanding customer service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming cafe and playroom environment.
• Assist with Monday cat playroom deep cleans and general maintenance.
• Educate guests about Felius’ mission and the importance of cat rescue.
• Support special cafe events (quiz nights, workshops, pop-ups, etc.).
• Help with Monday deep cleans

Qualifications

• Previous barista experience required - must have experience working on an semi-automatic or manual espresso machine.
• Must be 19+ to work with animals and serve alcohol in Nebraska.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage multiple guests during peak times.
• Tech-savvy and able to quickly learn POS and reservation platforms.
• Bonus: bartending experience and/or ServSafe certification.
• Passion for animals and willingness to assist with cat care and playroom maintenance.
