Position Summary

The Barista is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and light refreshments for employees, guests, and visitors within a corporate office environment. This role maintains a clean, welcoming café atmosphere and ensures efficient service during peak business hours.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other specialty beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide excellent customer service.
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and accurately process transactions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including counters, equipment, seating areas, and storage spaces.
  • Stock and replenish food, beverage, and supply inventory throughout the day.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times.
  • Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring beverages and food items meet company standards.
  • Assist with receiving deliveries and organizing inventory.
  • Communicate customer feedback and operational needs to management.
  • Support catering requests, meetings, and special events as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient café operations and a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous barista, café, food service, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate espresso machines, coffee brewers, and related equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic math and cash-handling skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, and repetitive hand movements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Primarily Monday through Friday business-hour operations.

Reports To: Café Manager, Food Service Manager, or Chef Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
