Role Description The Barista role at sml wrld is a part-time, on-site position located in Ann Arbor, MI. In this role, the Barista prepares and serves a variety of coffee, matcha, and specialty beverages according to company recipes and standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting up and maintaining the bar area, operating coffee equipment, managing food preparation for light snacks, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. The Barista greets guests, takes orders, processes payments, and delivers friendly, efficient customer service while representing the sml wrld brand and values. This role also involves supporting pop-up or in-store events, restocking supplies, and collaborating with team members to ensure a smooth and welcoming guest experience.

Qualifications

• Strong Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills to create a welcoming, inclusive environment for guests.
• Barista experience or skills in espresso, coffee, and matcha preparation, with attention to quality and consistency.
• Effective Communication skills for interacting with guests, teammates, and management.
• Food Preparation skills and basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move supplies, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliability in attendance, punctuality, and following established recipes and procedures.
• Prior café, hospitality, or retail experience is preferred but not required.
• Availability to work a flexible part-time schedule, including weekends, evenings, and special events.
