Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative Manufacturing Buyer to join our team. Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the uninterrupted production of our professional-grade commercial espresso machines. You will manage the end-to-end procurement of essential components, ranging from custom machined parts and sheet metal to specialized electrical assemblies. This role bridges entry-level execution and mid-level independence, offering a clear path for professional growth under the direct mentorship of the Supply Chain Manager.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience: 1.5 to 3 years of purchasing or material planning experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration, operations, or equivalent hands-on manufacturing work experience.
- Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data cleaning, formulas, VLOOKUPs,PIVOTTables) for tracking part lists and pricing spreadsheets.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical blueprints, bills of materials (BOMs), or engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Systems: Experience using an ERP/MRP system (ideally SAP) to create purchase orders, track lead times, and manage data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience sourcing commodities relevant to espresso equipment (e.g., stainless steel, copper tubing, brass fittings, heating elements, or circuit boards).
- Sourcing experience: Familiarity with sheet metal fabricators, machining, powder coating, plating shops, or industrial hardware distributors
- Process Improvement: Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban inventory
Core Job Responsibilities
- Purchase Order (PO) Management: Review daily material requirements (MRP), then place and track POs for raw materials and sub-assemblies to align with the production floor schedule.
- Shortage & Expediting Management: Identify long lead-time risks or material shortages early; actively work with vendors to expedite orders and avoid assembly line down-time.
- Supplier Relations: Act as the daily touchpoint for localized and international vendors, ensuring clear communication regarding part quality standards and on-time delivery KPIs.
- Request for Quotes (RFQs): Send out RFQ packages under the guidance of the Supply Chain Manager to secure competitive pricing while maintaining high aesthetic and mechanical standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with Production Managers, Quality Control, and Engineering teams to resolve part discrepancies or material non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Invoice & Data Reconciliation: Work with Accounting to research and resolve any supplier invoicing, pricing, or receiving quantity variances.
- Team Contribution: Support the Supply Chain Manager with data collection for vendor reviews and cost-saving initiatives.
Salary Range
70K-85K $ based on experience + Year End bonus based on performances
