[ARTE MUSEUM]

ARTE MUSEUM is an immersive media art exhibition space presented by d'strict, acclaimed for creating the public media art 'WAVE' at COEX in Korea. Exhibits at the ARTE MUSEUM center around the theme 'ETERNAL NATURE,' reinterpreting various elements and spaces in nature as immersive media art. [Job description]

The Café Part Leader (PL) supports the daily operations of the café at ARTE MUSEUM NEW YORK, ensuring outstanding guest service, operational efficiency, and inventory accuracy. This role leads the café team during assigned shifts, maintains high presentation standards, and ensures every guest receives an exceptional experience that reflects the ARTE MUSEUM brand. The café is an extension of the immersive museum experience — this role places strong emphasis on inventory management, organization, and cost control, while also encouraging creativity through the development of unique beverages and desserts.


[Duties and Responsibilities]

According to the Company, it is necessary to comply with and implement the operational policies and procedures of the café and aims to enrich and enhance the guest experience. Work according to the work schedule, including weekends and public holidays, as the ARTE MUSEUM NEW YORK operates year-round in the service industry. Be prepared for rotating shifts based on working hours.


[Inventory Management]

  • Take ownership of all café inventory and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts.
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate purchasing needs before shortages occur.
  • Receive and inspect deliveries for quality and accuracy.
  • Organize storage areas and maintain clean, well-labeled inventory.
  • Practice FIFO (First In, First Out) to ensure proper product rotation and freshness.
  • Monitor expiration dates and minimize product waste.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and recommend solutions.
  • Track product usage and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency.
  • Work closely with management on purchasing, forecasting, and inventory planning.


[Operations]

  • Lead café operations during assigned shifts.
  • Open and close the café according to company procedures.
  • Ensure food and beverages are prepared consistently and meet quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards.
  • Ensure staff are properly trained and prepared for DOHMH (NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene) inspections at all times.
  • Operate POS systems and assist with cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation.
  • Ensure all café displays remain clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout the day.
  • Assist with private events and special museum activations.


[Leadership]

  • Supervise, coach, and motivate Café Associates.
  • Train new team members on café procedures and service standards.
  • Lead by example with professionalism, accountability, and a positive attitude.
  • Assist management in maintaining a productive, collaborative work environment.
  • Address guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.


[Guest Experience]

  • Deliver exceptional hospitality to every guest.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of ARTE MUSEUM NEW YORK's immersive exhibitions and confidently explain the museum experience, exhibition concept, and café offerings to guests.
  • Represent the ARTE MUSEUM brand through professional, friendly, and engaging interactions.
  • Help create memorable experiences that encourage guests to extend and enjoy their ARTE MUSEUM visit.


[Menu Development]

  • Collaborate with management to develop creative seasonal beverage and dessert menus.
  • Research food and beverage trends and recommend innovative menu ideas.
  • Create menu concepts that complement the immersive nature of ARTE MUSEUM while considering operational efficiency, food cost, and inventory management.
  • Every new menu item must have a documented recipe and cost of goods (COGS) analysis, which must be reviewed and approved by management prior to launch.
  • Continuously evaluate guest feedback to improve café offerings.


[Job Qualifications]

** NYC Food Handling License (Food Protection Certificate) required.

** Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • 5-10 years of experience in café operations, inventory management, retail, or hospitality required.
  • Strong experience managing inventory, receiving shipments, ordering products, and maintaining accurate stock levels.
  • Excellent understanding of inventory control, FIFO practices, and loss prevention.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience developing or introducing beverage and dessert menus is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using POS and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and special events.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and move throughout the café during shifts.


Compensation: $23.00–$26.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
