Role Description The Caffe role is a full-time, on-site position based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. This role involves preparing and serving coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and light food items according to company standards and recipes. Day-to-day responsibilities include operating coffee equipment, handling customer orders, processing payments, and maintaining a clean and organized service area. The team member will restock supplies, follow food safety and hygiene guidelines, and support opening and closing procedures. The role also requires engaging with guests in a courteous, professional manner, answering questions about menu items, and contributing to a friendly, efficient café environment.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess experience in café, coffee shop, or food service environments, including basic barista or counter service skills.
  • Candidates should possess strong customer service abilities, including clear communication, active listening, and a friendly, professional demeanor with guests and colleagues.
  • Candidates should possess skills in cash handling, point-of-sale (POS) operation, and accurate order processing.
  • Candidates should possess an understanding of food safety, sanitation practices, and proper handling of beverages and food items.
  • Candidates should possess the ability to work on-site for extended periods, stand for long shifts, and perform light physical tasks such as lifting and stocking.
  • Relevant qualifications that would be beneficial include prior barista training, experience in the New York City hospitality market, and familiarity with specialty coffee preparation.
  • A flexible schedule, including availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment are preferred.
